The mission of OIC
International is to establish lasting institutions
primarily in developing countries, providing non-formal
skills training appropriate to the needs of that
country. The transfer and teaching of marketable skills,
through the OIC training model, can help the
disadvantaged to become self-reliant and productively
involved in the development of their countries. OIC International (OICI) is a non-profit private voluntary
organization devoted to improving the lives of the
underprivileged in developing countries. Local OIC
offices in several African nations, Poland and the
Philippines have helped thousands to become expert
farmers, successful business owners, skilled workers and
prominent members of their communities. In over 30 years
of service, OICI has built the largest community-based
job skills training network in the world, establishing

Vocational Training Centers
Local OIC
training centers give hope to the unemployed and
uneducated by teaching them the skills necessary to
pursue a successful career. Graduates of these centers
are able to work in fields such as hotel management,
carpentry, masonry, computer science, shoemaking and
auto body repair.
Food Security
Programs
OICI works to increase food production
and availability in developing countries by showing
farmers how to harvest and store their crops more
effectively. With this assistance, farms are able to
raise their level of agricultural productivity and
enhance their income-generating abilities. OICI also
improves health and sanitation in poor rural areas
through the construction of potable water wells.
Small Business Development
Support
Business management instruction and
micro-credit financing are provided to current and
aspiring small business owners. OICI has created
thousands of successful enterprises by giving ambitious
entrepreneurs the tools and resources necessary to get
their businesses off the ground.
Post-War
Rehabilitation Services
OICI strives to improve
the emotional as well as economic state of those living
in war-torn countries. OIC affiliates in Liberia and
Sierra Leone offer trauma counseling in addition to job
skills training to facilitate the rehabilitation and
reintegration of war-affected youth, orphans, widows and
refugees into their communities.
