John Tate, founder of Panafra, the GSP's first Tanzanian company to endorse the Global Sullivan Principles, speaks out on endorsing the GSP........................................January 2007

When starting a Company, as I am doing with Panafra, one has a marvelous opportunity to imbed the GSP into the Company’s DNA from day one.  By setting a tone at the top that goes on record endorsing the Principles and basing the Company’s Ethics Policy on the GSP, the Company has given priority to the type of behavior described in the Principles.  It is my belief, based seeing so many corporate initiatives of this type fail to gain traction, that by highlighting the Principles from the beginning one can help ensure the Principles take on a meaningful role in the Company’s day-to-day thinking and actions and in the orientation of all who work with or for us.
