The Leon H. Sullivan Summit For more

The 6th Leon H. Sullivan Summit was held in Nigeria's
capital, Abuja in July 2003.
The objectives of the Summit were to:
1)
Highlight key issues and best practices to improve agriculture,
health and education to replicate what works;
2)Highlight Africa's long-term economic security through
business trade and investment practices and strategic
partnerships;
3)
Promote private enterprise and encourage foreign investment
while protecting the environment and human rights; and
4)
Foster high-level strategic partnerships between African
governments and US Government Agencies and other organizations.
Results of Summit VI included:
1)
Attendance of 3052 Delegates from the United States, Africa and
Europe;
2)
Attendance of nine Presidents and Heads of State and 20 official
delegations;
3)
Participation of 32 international organizations;
4)
Holding of 23 official plenary sessions and workshops on
agriculture, health, education, and business, trade and
investment and other issues;
